There is almost always a light haze üover the island of Formosa (now Taiwan). The climate here is very humid, with temperatures not exceeding 28 degrees in summer and not dropping below 13 degrees in winter. An ideal climate for growing tea. The main part of the production is oolong (black dragon). With oolong, the fresh tea leaves are fermented only briefly and then dried. A good oolong from Formosa has a light brown leaf and silver leaf tips. The production is done by many small family businesses. Oolong is a semi-fermented tea that lies between green and black tea in colour and aroma and is characterised by a soft, flowery cup. Oolong tea has less caffeine than black tea and is therefore also an ideal drink for the evening. A significant share of production is devoted to green tea, which is now appreciated worldwide for its good quality;

The Formosa Oolong tea Wen Shan Pouchong is particularly brilliant because of its cup: light yellow. This tea also has its own special features: In the past, tea houses wrapped their teas in paper for sale. By chance, this became an important step in the production of pouchong, which gave it its name. Pouchong is derived from the term Bao Zhong and means something like the wrapped. Semi-fermented Tea Formosa Cinnamon Tung Ting Oolong 1kg

The basis for this speciality is the Jade Tung Ting Oolong from the Nantou district in the Taiwanese highlands. The production principle is similar to that of jasmine or rose tea. Roughly equal parts of ready-made tea leaves are mixed with dried cinnamon pieces and then gently heated in an oven at low temperature.
