Steinthal was founded in 1852 by the German priest Joachim Stoelke as Darjeeling's first tea garden and is very popular, especially in Europe, not only because of its history, but also thanks to the high quality produced over the years. It is probably the only garden in Darjeeling that still grows 100% Chinese plants. This is also reflected in the beautifully crafted, slightly twisted Sinensis leaf.
