China is rightly called the cradle of tea. According to legend, it was here that tea was born in the drinking bowl of Emperor Chen Nung, while he was sitting under a wild tea bush. In China, tea has been produced and drunk for about 5,000 years. The Chinese, like most Asians, prefer green tea. However, black tea> is also produced for export. The best-known varieties come from the provinces of Szechwan, Yunnan and Anhui (Keemun). Tea from China is very popular and has less caffeine than other teas. The black Keemun teas from Anhui province are also low in tannins and suitable for particularly sensitive people. Black teas< from China are particularly mild and pleasant. They are traditionally drunk without milk and sugar. The exception is Yunnan, which is generally stronger and darker. Grüntees come in countless varieties and qualities. Some of them are among the best in the world;
