The rootstock of the ginger plant, also known as the rhizome, is harvested and grows horizontally along the ground. The origin of the legendary moringa tree has its roots at the feet of the Himalaya mountains. In the meantime, however, cultivation has long since reached other continents such as South America and Africa. Small cooperatives, primarily in Tanzania and Kenya, produce top qualities there that are harvested after 3 years at the earliest. The harvest of this gentle cultivation is both the bright green leaves and the unique cup. Spicy-fresh with a pleasant, slightly sweet note, the leaves of this "miracle tree" definitely taste like "more". From the Indian subcontinent, we have chosen a beautiful quality from SriLanka, which is in no way inferior to the African one. Camomile as a dried blossom is ideal in every season as a caffeine-free hot or cold drink. The face can also be pampered with the hot steam of a camomile bath. We offer a very high quality chamomile here. The infusion releases its typical chamomile character particularly intensively. The larger and visually more striking sister of chamomile, Roman chamomile, is in no way inferior to it in terms of taste, but is preferably used for decorative purposes. incidentally, chamomile is a so-called "ancient immigrant" that has accompanied cultural history since the younger Stone Age.

Hardly any other product has become equally well known under so many different names. Spearmint is its original, genuine name. The name "spearmint" is probably due to the peculiar mint flavour without any menthol nuances. Nanamint is a traditional infusion drink in many countries of North Africa, enjoyed in all seasons. Whether hot or chilled, the brew is a thirst quencher, without fruity notes but with a delicious spearmintflavour. Another classic is the combination of green tea, preferably gunpowder, and spearmint.

The wild growing peppermint, one of the countless mint species, is only found in Central and Southern Europe. Today, peppermint is cultivated throughout Europe and North Africa. Peppermint has a pure, refreshing, menthol-like character. Through the cultivation of different types of mint, over a long period of time, the original wild growth has changed greatly. It is assumed that this is how the different-tasting spearmint (Art. No. 22498) with its very own spearmint note came into being.

Due to numerous requests, we have now also included the whole mint in our standard assortment. Sage is a semi-shrub that can reach a height of up to 70 cm. The elongated downy leaves growing on the woody branches, which smell so deliciously spicy-aromatic, have an olive greengrey colour. In taste, the plant releases its typical, slightly bitter aroma. Sage as a spice plant has its general origin in the Mediterranean area, but especially in the Adriatic region. Nowadays, the plant is also cultivated in other European countries. The cut sage should be kept in dark and tightly closed containers. The container should not be made of plastic because of the essential oils of sage.

Lemon verbena leaves, which are also known as vervene or verbena, are becoming increasingly popular. For this reason, we have decided to place them in our catalogue. The taste of lemon verbena is similar to lemon balm, but with a fresh and slightly tart lemon note.

Lemon grass, which comes from the sweet grass family, is mainly native to South and Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka, India and Australia. Also called citronella or lemon grass, it is preferred as a spice in Asian cuisine. In dried form, it is used cut or ground. But it is the fresh stalk of lemongrass that gives off a slightly rosy, unusual and fresh lemon aroma with its very own exotic note. The fresh or dried leaves, as we know them from tea blends, are often used for a thirst-quenching tea. The popular lemongrass used for flavouring comes from Thailand.
